About Carolyn

Carolyn Bottone-Post is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with four decades of clinical experience and a passion for teaching student nurses. After 10 years as a Registered Nurse in med-surg, ICU and L&D, she received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and practiced full scope midwifery for 20 years; later providing ambulatory midwifery and women’s healthcare while pursuing a career in academia.

Carolyn earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Regis University in 2016 in the APRN track, and now teaches obstetrics and women’s health for baccalaureate and family nurse practitioner students at the University of Northern Colorado as a full-time assistant professor.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and five grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading and beginning quilting. She is committed to improving women’s healthcare globally and had traveled with Project Cure to Mexico, Paraguay and Ghana providing women’s cervical cancer screening and treatment, and teaching components of Helping Babies Breathe, Essential Care for Small Babies and Helping Mothers Survive Bleeding After Birth.
